Troubleshooting

My Pog Is Stuck in the Smaller Half of the Protector

If the pog appears stuck and is close to the “surface,” try opening and closing the protector a few times. Hold it horizontally so gravity can help. This process often provides enough suction to “pull” the pog out.

If that doesn’t work, or the pog has gotten jammed deeper into the protector, grab a blow dryer! Open the protector and hold it at a downward angle. Run the hair dryer on the backside. The heat will cause the plastic to expand just enough for the pog to fall out. This process may take up to five minutes or more, so be patient. It may appear like nothing's happening until suddenly...the pog drops out like magic!

With all the testings, I've never know this process to damage the pog or protector, nor have these techniques ever failed to remove a "stuck" pog.

Also, please be careful with your hair dryer...don't burn yourself. Kids, have an adult help you.

The Protector "Pops Out" of the Stand

In the rare occurrence that this happens, fear not! The solution is simple. Place the protector back into the stand and rotate it a full 360 degrees. I'm not sure what causes this problem, whether it's the protector or the stand, but this fixes the it every time. See video below (and forgive me it was hard to film while demonstrating with one hand lol).

The Protector Doesn't Fit Inside the Stand

Double check that the protector is fully closed 360 degrees. Sometimes, one area of the protector isn't completely sealed and/or is caught on the side of the cardboard pog.

My Figure Won't Fit Inside the Can with an SPD Soda Kit

There are a few cases where soda figures don’t seem to fit inside the can with an SPD Soda Kit. It’s very rare, but if the lid doesn’t close, never force it. You could pop out the bottom lid or worse, potentially crack the protector or damage the figure. Don’t do that. Instead, read on…

Case 1: Too Much Stuffing

Ensure that you don’t have an excessive amount of bubble wrap or stuffing around the figure. If there’s too much stuffing below the feet or above the head, the lid could have trouble closing. The original bubble-wrap insert works best and is really all you need. It’s how I store and ship all of my sodas with their kits.

Case 2: Defective Cans

I’ve encountered a few of what I consider “Defectively short” Soda cans. For some reason, it seems that the bottom lid of the can is shallower and makes the entire can sit lower. It’s hard to tell unless you line it up beside a normal can. If this happens, I recommend switching out the shallow bottom lid with a normal one and you’re good. Don’t throw away that short bottom lid! Simply replace it on a can of a small figure like Batgirl or a Luchadore and there should be plenty of space!

Case 3: Abnormally Tall Figures

I’ve tested my kits with over 500 different figures and have only encountered a few problematic ones.

Known Issues with kit fits:

  • Envy Adams. This one surprised me, but the height and angle of her ponytail seems to interfere with the soda lid. Solution? Store her upside down in the bubble wrap and she should fit just fine!
  • Samurai Jack. This one is borderline because the ponytail is fragile in general. What's up with ponytails causing problems? My common and chase Jacks fit in the can, but it's a tight fit. I would advise to try and not store a protected pog with the figure for him.
  • Leatherface. Unfortunately, this big guy is just slightly too tall to fit with the kit. In rare cases like this, you can leave the soda lid a bit higher, tape it, or store the protector somewhere else.

Please let me know if you encounter trouble with any others!

Again, *NEVER* force the soda lid on. If it doesn’t fit, try to figure out why, but worst case, store the protector somewhere else.
